1961 Terre del Barolo Barolo

A fabulous drink. There's a touch of balsamic volatility punching aromas of truffle, teak, leather, iron and spice into the nostrils. It gains complexity with air and has so much subtle, savoury nuance. The palate is layered and there's a sweet core of raspberry fruit that intensifies with each sip. Tannins have melded into the wine but there's a strong spine of minerally acidity giving the wine great posture. Length is superb. JH 20217
