1969 Domaine Charles Noellat Clos Vougeot, Grand Cru, high shoulder, damaged capsule

Just a little demure on opening. It wasted little time getting into gear however and had a gorgeous nose of strawberry, cherry, black earth, root vegetables and decaying rose. The palate had good intensity and was expansive. There was a suggestion of mocha and plenty of florals. It was super fine and silky and had outstanding length. JH 2018
