1970 Prunotto Barolo Riserva

Complex aromatics of dried porcini, earth, balsamic, chestnuts, Indian spices and cherry. It starts off rather strict in the mouth and slowly gains vinous sweetness. Balance is excellent and there's punch to the finish with a little kick of volatility. It cut through bbq quail like a vinous knife and is drinking beautifully now with plenty still in the tank.  JH 2017
