2001 Chateau De Malle, Sauternes

Pale yellow-gold. Sappy, crystallized apricot and peach on the nose, with a liqueur-like suggestion. Thick, tactile and rich, with slightly edgy peach flavors framed by rather strong, almost Alsace-like acids. Rich, chewy wine but not completely pure today. Finishes sweet and long, with a faint dry edge.
87-90 points. Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.
