This Taurasi is made up of 100% Aglianico from the San Mango sul Calore vineyard from the Taurasi DOCG. The wine ages for 30 months in large Slovenian casks and is released with some bottle age on it. The nose is ironstone and briary fruits. It is a contained and savoury wine, still very fresh and primary. Tannins have that granite-like feel and it has mid-palate flesh. With air there are notes of violets and the finish is clean and savoury. Lovely balance here and plenty in the tank for further aging. JH 2023
