Bricco delle Viole one of the more lofty sites in Barolo, ranging from 370-490 metres above sea level (though, admittedly, sea level a little less static these days…) Dried rose and potpourri, aniseed/mint, dried raspberry, spices. Lots of crunch and freshness to the acidity, a little clay-like feel to tannin and lots of length and perfume. Bright. A little more frisky and less concentrated this year, but still so lovely. 95 points. Gary Walsh, The Winefront.
