We have been mightily impressed with the wines from Domaine Jacques Cacheux over the past few years. The family have been farming plots in Vosne Romanée for generations and Jacques Cacheux was a very close friend of the legendary Henri Jayer. Patrice Cacheux took over from his father in 1994 and the influence of his father and Mr Jayer has made a profound impact on him concerning viticultural practices and respect for the vineyards. The Family own 7 hectares in some of the most prestigious plots and are the custodians of a very rare vineyard called La Croix Rameau 1er Cru which is a mere .6 of a hectare that is located on the corner of the famous Grand Cru Romanee- Saint Vivant. They share ownership of this plot with Domaine Lamarche and Coudray Bizot and the number of bottles produced are sadly miniscule.
