A fine chardonnay, less worked than its more expensive sibling but rivalling it in poise, ease of drinking and flavour intensity. Wild and barrel fermented with lees-derived notes of almond meal, hazelnut, truffle and creamed corn. Stone fruits singing behind. Full-ish. Plump. A mellifluous finish, intense of flavour yet lilting long, rather than driving across a brittle sourness of acidity, as is often the case at this sort of pricing. Lovely drinking. 93 points, Halliday Wine Companion.
