These guys make what is considered to be the best version of this indigenous Friulian red variety. It has a dark and intriguing nose. Blood plum, licorice root, moss, blood and smoked meats. The palate has fruit weight and intensity. There's some sarsaparilla spice. It is complex and ethereal, with power but lightness of touch. It has a grind of black pepper, to the long and savoury finish. JH 2025
