2022 Tenuta di Fessina Etna A Puddara

This is one of the great white wines of the world. This is Carricante from 2ha of south–facing vines planted in 1950 in Biancavilla on Mount Etna at 900m. It has a smoky/ flinty struck match nose, with echoes of citrus fruit. It is so direct and linear, with such great acid drive that makes you wince and squint. It has cut like you used to see in great Chablis.  JH 2024
