This syrah hails from the Dorrien subregion, contains 62% whole clusters and is matured for 11 months in a single seasoned French oak puncheon. It’s lovely. All lithe and composed with an energetic, savoury palate flow and notes of mulberry, macerated blood plum, exotic spice, amaro herbs, a touch of ginger, pressed flowers and earth. Chalky tannin grip and some really attractive perfumed facets on the palate fading to an array of spice, chinotto and pure red and blue fruits on the exit. 95 points.
