100 % Chenin Blanc from a cooler north facing vineyard in the village of Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg from vines more than 20 years old. Whole bunch pressed and fermented with natural yeast 80 % in concrete vat and 20 % in aged barrels before being blended and aged for 6 months on fine lees before bottling. The nose has some apple, peach and honeysuckle. The palate has a core of fruit and plenty of chalk and tart granny Smith apple notes. It is a textural wine that has refreshing crunch and a finish carried by fine, minerally acidity. JH 2024
