" ...repast is the best example of self-publishing in the food and wine space in the country." -Nick Ryan, The Australian
repast is a completely ad-free self-published book providing travel tips and recommendations written by Jeremy Holmes, with layout and photos by Heidi Holmes. It is a humorous, unpretentious take on the very serious world of wine and food, appreciated by both intrepid food and wine lovers and arm chair travellers looking for an entertaining read.
Covering many cities, including LA, Las Vegas, New York, Paris, San Sebastian, Hobart, Tokyo, and Berlin, repast is brimming with entertaining dining reports, tips on where to stay and many places off the beaten tourist path. Wine enthusiasts' thirsts will be quenched by Jeremy’s extensive tasting notes from Burgundy.
We ensure we only send wine when the weather is at a safe transportable temperature, taking into account both departure and destination points. Sometimes this means the wine will take longer than 14 days to deliver. If this is the case we will contact you. Wine will only be sent in really hot weather if you specifically request it to be.
We offer a full guarantee on every bottle we sell. If, for any reason, you believe the wine does not present as you would expect it to, please let us know and we will replace it. If you are opening a bottle that is a birth year wine, or an older one, consider the Audouze method (read on for more details) of opening to ensure you get the best result from your wine.
We recommend using a Durand Bottle opener or similar and using the Audouze method:
Text taken from academies vinsanciens on Sunday 26th March 2006
The so-called Audouze method should be called: slow oxygenation method. But as some of you have tried to use it by making innovations, I would be happy that this method would be called: “do nothing method”.
I would be happy that the method would be used in its total purity.
So, the skeleton of this method is:
- you open a wine 4 to 5 hours before drinking
- you let it stand
- you do not touch it anymore
- when it is time, you pour it in the glasses
- point.
The more you use it in its simplest way, the more you will check how efficient it is.
