Le Bèrne have a huge reputation in Italy for producing some of the best Rosso and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. They don't use herbicides, pesticides or synthetic products, for them the most important thing is the health of the vineyard and the soil. They have received the prestigious TRE BICCHIERI from Gambero Rosso a whopping 9 times over the years. The wines are splendid. Deep, rich expressions of Sangiovese. Powerful but light on their feet. Such great perfumes.
Federico is 4th generation producer involved in the Le Berne winery. His Grandfather, mother, uncle and himself are all highly active in the family business. The fruit is all estate grown, and managed sustainably with no pesticides. Federico’s grandfather planted their noble riserva vines in 1967 making them the oldest in the area. There is careful consideration every step of the process here, starting with the vineyard. Pedro Parra was engaged to identify the different soil types, and now the fruit is picked in separate sections.
